The Counterfeiters (Die Fälscher)

The last two weeks at watershed have impressed me greatly. To say the least, die Faelscher, is another impressive film. Shot on a wonderful high grain traditional colour film. The cinematography is excellent, and gives the audience a feeling of actually being in the moment.

The film closely captures the antagonistic position that these few jewish men found themselves in during the second world war. Help the Nazis, and support persecution of their friends and families, or sabbotage their efforts and be shot.

The lead performance is excellent, and solid throughout. Despite some moderate shocking scenes, audiences will leave this one with a smile.
